Signs and Symptoms of COVID-19

Reported illnesses from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases have ranged from mild symptoms to severe symptoms and death for confirmed cases. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. If you have mild or moderate symptoms, it is recommended that you isolate or quarantine yourself so as not to pass the infection to those around you if you do have COVID-19. Common symptoms include:

• Fever

• Cough

• Shortness of breath

• Chest pressure/pain


If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19, get medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include:

• Trouble breathing

• Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

• New confusion or inability to arouse

• Bluish lips or face – this signals decreased oxygen levels
